Effective Date: September 22, 2026
Welcome to watermarkcounselingkc.com (the "Site"), owned and operated by Watermark Counseling KC ("Watermark," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is intended for adults 18 and older.
This Website Is Not Therapy
The content on this Site, including blog posts, articles, newsletters, videos, the Coffee Talk series, and social media posts, is for general education and information only. It is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, or a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment.
Reading the Site, subscribing to our newsletter, sending us a message, or scheduling a free consultation does not create a therapist-client relationship with Janet Clevenger, MS, LCMFT, or Watermark Counseling KC. A therapeutic relationship begins only after you complete our intake process and both parties agree to begin services.
Always consult a qualified mental health or medical professional about your specific situation. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on the Site.
If You Are in Crisis
The Site and our email are not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or others, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Licensure and Service Area
Janet Clevenger is licensed to provide therapy in Kansas and Missouri. In-person sessions take place at the Leawood, Kansas office. Virtual sessions are available to anyone physically located in Kansas or Missouri at the time of each session. Content on the Site is not directed to anyone seeking services outside those states.
Free Consultations
Free consultations are brief conversations to help you decide whether Watermark is a good fit for you. They are not therapy sessions and do not include assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.
Fees, Scheduling, and Client Policies
Fees, payment, cancellation, and other client policies are provided during intake and managed through our secure client portal, SimplePractice. Those policies, along with our Notice of Privacy Practices and informed consent documents, govern your therapy services. If anything in these Terms conflicts with those documents, the client documents control.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, illustrations, logos, videos, and downloadable resources, is owned by Watermark Counseling KC or used with permission and is protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may view, download, and share Site content for your own personal, non-commercial use, as long as you credit Watermark Counseling KC and link back to the original page. You may not copy, modify, republish, sell, or use our content for commercial purposes without written permission.
Content You Share With Us
If you post a comment, reply to a newsletter, or share content with us through the Site or social media, you give us permission to use, edit, or remove it at our discretion, without payment to you. Please do not share personal health information in public comments or messages.
